Children's therapy involves engaging the child in imaginative play. Children have the ability to explore their challenges and struggles through imagination and pretend play, it is their language. As we engage with a child we are allowing their feelings to come forward and their free expression of ideas to be valued and explored. We work to find alternative ways of thinking about and reacting to the problem that is in line with a child's abilties and skills. When children are acting out due to family conflicts or struggles, therapy allows them to find their voice in a safe space to discuss their concerns about the family situation. This can help calm their worries and fears.
